The Portuguese are by far the largest foreign European community in Luxembourg: 95,516 people, or 15.6% of the total population. Next are the French (7.6% of the total population), Italians (3.7%), Belgians (3.3%) and Germans (2.1%). The 5,766 British nationals are the 7th largest foreign community in the country. Since the vote for the UK's exit from the European Union, the number of naturalizations of Britons has literally exploded, rising from 43 in 2011 to 399 in 2018 (+ 827.9%).
