eLuxembourg: a Government initiative

The objective of eLuxembourg is to implement new innovation and communication technologies for the benefit of citizens and administrative reform.

This site is an integrated part of the projects related to electronic governance. Electronic governance is one of the main drivers of modernisation of the State.

This is a global and coherent concept which aims to dematerialise the State’s exchanges with its citizens. It is implemented by the Ministry of the Civil Service and Administrative Reform, in close collaboration with different ministries.

The initiatives launched within the framework of electronic governance aim to put into place faster, simpler and more economical relationships with the users. They have the following objectives:

• Allow all citizens, enterprises, schools and administrations to participate in the information society and provide them with online access
• Harness new technologies to serve citizens and enterprises
• Promote access to knowledge through new information and communication technologies
• Make sure that the whole of this process has the ambition to enhance social integration and cohesion

Standardisation referential Renow

Renow is the official standardisation referential for the websites of the Luxembourg government. This site has been produced within that framework.

Renow aims to guide and assist web quality for public organisations wishing to set up a portal or site. It is based on experiences gained within the framework of the government’s web projects over the past few years and on the evolution of standards recognised at international level.

Renow includes numerous standardisation aspects, in particular:

• Quality standards for all of the State’s websites (functional aspects, common features – for instance “Contact”, “Feedback”, etc – ergonomic aspects, accessibility aspects, aspects concerning the architecture of information, functional design and graphic design aspects – including the implementation of a “corporate identity” – technical aspects, with the implementation of a central infrastructure)
• Project management aspects, by suggesting an adaptation (or tailoring” of the project management referential QUAPITAL-HERMES.
