In 2015 the population increased by +2.4 %: on 1st January 2016 the Grand-Duchy counted 576 249 inhabitants

During the year 2015, the population of the Grand Duchy increased by 13 291 inhabitants so that on January 1st 2016, 576 249 persons lived in Luxembourg. As this increase is due for more than 80% to net migration, some 47% of the country's inhabitants do not have Luxembourgish nationality.
