Construction prices are going through the roof

Construction prices are not escaping the general inflationary context and are continuing their marked upward trend, already observed in April 2021. The construction price index rose by 8.6% between October 2021 and April 2022, compared with 4.9% in the previous six months. Over one year, prices in residential construction are up by 13.9%. The annual rate of change thus reached its highest level since April 1975. This new exceptional and generalized increase which concerns all the trades is mainly explained by the acceleration of the prices of many building materials and oil products.
