Payroll employment: +0.9% in the first quarter of 2022 and +3.8% over 12 months

The increase in salaried employment continues: in the first quarter of 2022, the salaried employment market rose by +0.9% compared to the fourth quarter of 2021. In annual variation, the increase was +3.8%.  Specialized activities and support services (+1.3%) and trade, transportation, accommodation and food services (+1.2%) showed the largest quarterly increase compared to Q4 2021.

Trade, transport, accommodation and food service activities (+4.4% year-on-year) and administration and other public services (+4.3% year-on-year) are the most dynamic branches. For administration and other public services, the favorable development comes from central administration and hospital activities. In trade, transport, accommodation and catering, restaurant activities recorded the most significant growth.
