Gross domestic product GDP for the second quarter of 2022: -0.5% compared to the previous quarter

In the second quarter of 2022, the change in real GDP was -0.5% compared to the previous quarter and 1.6% compared to the second quarter of 2021. The annual changes in real GDP are revised as follows: +2.7% instead of +4.0% for the first quarter of 2022, +4.1% instead of +4.9% for the fourth quarter of 2021 and +2.0% instead of +5.1% for the third quarter of 2021.

The annual data are subject to the traditional revision procedure: the complete annual accounts for the years 2018, 2019 and 2020 are revised and a first estimate of the complete annual accounts for the year 2021 is made. Thus, the annual evolution of GDP in volume for 2021 is revised downwards: +5.1% instead of +6.9% calculated on the basis of quarterly estimates in March 2022.
