Payroll employment: +0.8% in Q2 2022 and +3.6% over 12 months

The increase in salaried employment continues: in the second quarter of 2022, the salaried employment market rose by 0.8% compared to the first quarter of 2022. In annual variation, the increase was +3.6%.  Specialized activities and support services (+1.4%) and information and communication activities (+1.2%) showed the largest increases.

Specialized activities and support services (+4.7% year-on-year), as well as administration and other public services (+3.9% year-on-year) are the most dynamic branches in annual comparison. For specialized activities and support services, the favorable development comes from accounting activities and routine building cleaning services. In administration and other public services, central government recorded the strongest growth.

The number of cross-border employees (+1.2% compared with the previous quarter) rose more strongly than the number of residents (+0.6%). In annual variation, the number of non-EU residents rose by 14.7% (+1.4% for Luxembourg residents).
