Persistent increase in construction prices

The construction price index rose by 6.8% between April and October 2022, marking a slight slowdown compared to the previous six months (+8.6% between October 2021 and April 2022). Over a year, residential construction prices rose by 15.9%. The annual rate of change has thus reached its highest level since April 1975. Rising costs for energy and many construction materials, and the fact that these are being passed on to builders, are the main reasons for this further substantial increase.
