Annual inflation rate down from 3.6% to 3.2%
In June 2023, the national consumer price index calculated by STATEC showed a monthly rise of 0.3%. This was mainly due to a rebound in petroleum products and higher prices for certain travel-related services. Prices excluding petroleum products rose by 0.2%.
After four months of consecutive falls, the trend in petroleum product prices has been broken. Prices of petroleum products rose by 1.8% compared with May. At the pump, motorists have to pay 1.8% more for a full tank of petrol or diesel, or 2.7% more. The bill is 4.6% higher than in the previous month for households that have filled up their heating oil tanks. Despite this slight recovery, petroleum product prices are still 17.4% lower than in the same month last year.
