Annual inflation rate down from 4.1% to 3.2%

In October 2023, the national consumer price index calculated by STATEC was unchanged from the previous month. Behind this stability lie a number of offsetting price rises and falls. The main price decreases were for petroleum products and travel expenses, while some categories of services saw price increases.
Following four months of consecutive price rises for petroleum products, the trend has broken. Between September and October, the price of petroleum products fell by 2.4%. In October, diesel cost 1.2% less to fill up at the pump, while petrol prices fell by 5.8%. For households that filled their oil tanks, the bill was 1.9% lower than in the previous month. Compared with October last year, the price of petroleum products is 10.8% lower.
