17,735 jobseekers and a slight fall in the number of registrations

The number of available resident jobseekers registered with ADEM stood at 17,735 on 31 August 2024, an increase of 1,679 (or 10.5%) compared with August 2023.

This number of jobseekers is up for all vacancy durations of more than 4 months. The most highly qualified jobseekers (higher education graduates) and those aged between 30 and 44 are experiencing the biggest increases.
In terms of occupations, the biggest increases were in construction (ROME category F), installation and maintenance (category I), transport driving personnel (category N41), industry (category H), accountancy (M12), IT (M18) and banking (C12).

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate calculated by STATEC remains stable at 5.8%.
