18,625 jobseekers and an unemployment rate rising to 5.9 %

The number of available resident jobseekers registered with ADEM stood at 18,625 on 30 November 2024, an increase of 1,186 (or 6.8%) compared with November 2023. 

This increase particularly concerns jobseekers registered for more than 7 months, jobseekers aged over 30, and the most highly qualified jobseekers (higher education graduates). 
In terms of occupations, the biggest increases were in road transport driving occupations  (ROME category N41), culinary production (category G16), IT (M18) and banking (C12). 

The seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate calculated by STATEC rose to 5.9%.
