Annual inflation rate up from 3.0% to 3.5%
In December 2023, the national consumer price index, calculated by STATEC, showed a monthly decline of 0.2%. This trend can be explained by the sharp fall in petroleum product prices, down 3.9% in one month.
In December, at the pump, motorists had to pay 4.8% less for a liter of diesel and the price of a liter of petrol fell by 5.0% in one month. The bill for filling the heating oil tank is down by 8.3%. Compared with December last year, petroleum product prices are 4.4% lower.
