Deceleration of construction prices

Residential construction prices show the slowest half-yearly rise since October 2020. Between April 2023 and October 2023, the construction price index rose by just 1.2%, following a 5.2% increase between October 2022 and April 2023. Over one year, residential construction prices rose by 6.4%. Lower costs for certain building materials, offset by higher labor costs and weaker demand in the construction sector, explain the stability or even downward pressure on construction prices.
