Annual inflation rate down from 3.4% to 3.2%

Following the monthly decline in January due to the winter sales, the national consumer price index, calculated by the STATEC, rose by 1.4% in February 2024. Neutralising the effect of the return to sales, the index rose by 0.5% on the previous month. This was mainly due to higher prices for petroleum products.

In February, the monthly change in the general index was essentially due to the upward impact of the divisions affected in January by the winter sales, namely "Clothing and footwear" (+14.6% on January), "Leisure and culture" (+3.2%) and "Furniture, household goods and routine home maintenance" (+1.2%).
