Annual inflation rate up from 2.4% to 2.6%

In May 2024, the national consumer price index, calculated by STATEC, rose by 0.3% on the previous month. This was due to higher prices for services.

The services aggregate was up 1.0% on April. Air ticket prices were up 19.0% on the previous month. Prices for package tours rose by 9.0%. Nursery and day-care center fees were up 8.6% on the previous month. Multi-service telecoms offers (+8.0%) also fuelled inflation in May. Year-on-year, service prices rose by 4.0%.
