Annual inflation rate down from 2.6% to 2.2%

In June 2024, the national consumer price index calculated by STATEC fell by 0.1% compared with the previous month. This change is explained by a fall in petroleum product prices, combined with a drop in food prices.

For the second consecutive month, the trend in petroleum product prices is downwards. Compared with May, products derived from black gold are down by 1.8%.  Prices at the pump are cheaper for motorists, down 3.2% for petrol and 1.4% for diesel compared with May. The price of heating oil is down by 2.1%. Compared with June last year, prices of petroleum products are still 0.5% higher.
