Annual inflation rate down from 1.7% to 1.3%

In September 2024, the national consumer price index, calculated by STATEC, showed a monthly decline of 0.4%. This change can be explained by the sharp fall in petroleum product prices, combined with lower travel costs.

For the second month running, the trend in petroleum product prices is downwards. Compared with August, products derived from black gold are down 4.3%. Prices at the pump are cheaper for motorists, down 4.4% for diesel and 5.4% for petrol compared with August. Heating oil prices are down 8.5%. Compared with September last year, petroleum product prices are 14.9% lower.
