Annual inflation rate down from 1.3% to 1.0%

In October 2024, the national consumer price index, calculated by STATEC, showed a monthly decline of 0.3%. This change can be explained by the sharp drop in travel costs, combined with a fall in gas prices.

For the third consecutive month, the trend in petroleum product prices was downward, which can be attributed to the 11.0% drop in city gas prices. On the other hand, prices at the pump are more expensive for motorists, rising by 2.2% for diesel and 1.8% for petrol compared with September. The price of heating oil is up 3.3%. Compared with October last year, petroleum product prices are 13.9% lower.
