Annual inflation rate up from 0.8% to 1.0%

In December 2024, the national consumer price index, calculated by STATEC, showed a monthly increase of 0.1%. This change was mainly due to higher travel costs in December.

As the year draws to a close, seasonal movements are having a strong inflationary influence on the overall result. As a result of the school vacations, air fares were up 25.6% on November (and 4.5% on December 2023). Prices for package tours rose by 15.1% compared to November 2024.
