Annual inflation rate down from 1.7% to 1.3%

In March 2025, the national consumer price index calculated by STATEC fell by -0.2% compared with the previous month. This change is explained by the sharp fall in the price of petroleum products. It is highly likely that the next index tranche will be triggered in April, with payment starting in May.

The petroleum products aggregate is down 3.4% on February. The bill is 6.0% lower than the previous month for households that have filled their oil tanks. At the pump, the price of diesel fell by 3.7% and the price of a liter of petrol by 4.5%. City gas, on the other hand, was up 1.0% on February. Compared with March last year, prices of petroleum products in the index are 2.7% lower.
