Wage indexation on 1 May 2025
According to preliminary results published by STATEC, the annual inflation rate of the national consumer price index (IPCN) stands at 1.7% for the month of April. With this result, the half-yearly average of the index linked to the base 1.1.1948 for April exceeds the threshold of 1,013.46 points, triggering a new wage indexation.
The new application rate for the sliding wage scale[1] of 968.04 points (previous rate: 944.43 points) will come into effect on 1 May 2025, resulting in a 2.5% increase in wages, salaries and pensions from that date.
The final and detailed results of the national consumer price index for April will be published on 7 May, following the monthly meeting of the Consumer Price Index Commission.
[1] The provisions governing the sliding scale wage system for all employees and pensioners are set out in Article 3 of the amended law of 25 March 2015 establishing the salary system and the conditions and procedures for promotion of civil servants.
