Annual inflation rate up from 2.2% to 2.3%

In July 2025, the national consumer price index, calculated by STATEC, fell by 0.5% compared to the previous month. As is the case every year, this decline is due to price reductions offered during the summer sales. Petroleum product prices rose by 2.1% over the month. Excluding sales-related variations and petroleum products, prices for other goods and services rose by 0.3% over the month.

Some categories saw sharp price declines in July due to summer sales. Prices in the “clothing and footwear” category fell by 16.1%. To a lesser extent, sales also affected other categories, such as furniture (-0.7%) and household textiles (-1.2%). These declines will generally be offset next month, when the indices for these goods return to their pre-sale levels.
