The economic seminar "Everything you need to know about the national consumer price index and inflation in Luxembourg", organised by STATEC, was held on 6 May 2026 
On this occasion, Marc Ferring and Jill Schaul presented the following topic:

The consumer price index is the official measure of inflation and the trigger for indexation adjustments in Luxembourg. As an important macroeconomic indicator, it was revised in 2026 with the adoption of a new classification system, better aligned with changes in household consumption behavior. This economic seminar will present how the index works, its calculation methodology, and its direct link to the wage indexation system. The inflation results for the month of April will also be presented, along with an update of inflation forecasts.
