Gross domestic product GDP for the second quarter of 2026: -0.9% compared to the previous quarter
In the second quarter of 2026, GDP in volume decreased by 0.9% compared to the previous quarter and increased by 1.3% compared to the second quarter of 2025.
Quarterly changes in GDP in volume have been revised as follows: +0.3% instead of 0.0% for the first quarter of 2026, +0.4% instead of 0.0% for the fourth quarter of 2025, and +1.4% instead of +1.2% for the third quarter of 2025.
STATEC publishes its first estimate of gross domestic product (GDP) for the second quarter of 2026, as well as revised figures for the previous quarters. The quarterly series for GDP and the main aggregates presented in this Statnews are seasonally adjusted¹.
The complete annual accounts for 2024 have been revised, and a first estimate of the complete annual accounts for 2025 has been produced. Based on these new results, annual changes in GDP in volume for 2024 and 2025 have been revised upwards: +2.0%, compared with +0.3% previously estimated for 2024, and +1.4%, compared with +0.6% in the previous quarterly estimates published in June 2026 for 2025. GDP in value (at current prices) amounted to EUR 91,391 million in 2025.
