1.5 Quality report
- The EU levies a uniform percentage on the Gross National Income (GNI) of each EU country as its major budget ressource. To have a fair contribution for each country, the compilation of the GNI of each EU country must comply with the same quality requirements. To verify the quality of GNI figures, the GNI committee of European Commission (EUROSTAT) requires from each EU country to draft an inventory of sources and methods of GNI and to keep it up to date. This inventory will be audited by the European Commission (Eurostat) and by the Audit Court of the EU. Each year, each country has to submit a quality report to European Commission (Eurostat) together with the latest figures about GNI.
