Population and housing census

Every ten years STATEC organizes a population and housing census. The last census took place on November 8th, 2021. This census was focused on digital solutions, in particular by completing the online questionnaire through guichet.lu.

Who participates ?

All households and physical people participate in the population census.

Survey period

The survey is conducted every 10 years.

Cadre légal

In addition to national legislation, the execution of population censuses is determined by Regulation (EC) No 763/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 July 2008.
