Analyses 01-2022 : Medium-Term Macroeconomic Projections 2022-2026

STATEC publishes in this issue of the "Analyses" series the medium-term projections which were provided around mid-February to the Ministry of Finance and the tax authorities in order to establish the next Stability and Growth Programme. The present projections, which cover the period 2022-2026, were finalized on February 15, 2022 under the usual premise of unchanged economic policies and thus take on, more than the short-term forecasts, a "conditional" nature. In the medium term, the evolutions drawn for the main macroeconomic variables thus depend on the hypotheses concerning economic evolution in the euro zone, incorporated in the long-term structural relations conveyed by the equations of the "Modux" model, used to establish these projections. Like the short-term forecasts, they are accompanied by alternative scenarios intended to illustrate two of the predominant risks at the time of their preparation.
