The effect of immigration on natives’ well-being in Europe

Immigration has become one of the most debated topics in Europe today, following the refugee crisis and the election of anti-immigrant governments. Yet, this analysis by STATEC Research of 24 European countries over the years 1990-2017 demonstrates that increasing immigrant population shares have no aggregate effect on natives’ well-being, contrary to a commonly accepted opinion.
