Regards 20/13 - Regards sur la satisfaction des ménages résidants à l’égard de leur vie
In recent years, the measure of "quality of life" with indicators going further than the standard GDP has become a major concern of policy makers and statisticians. The project “PIBien-être” (GDP Well-being) which is in full progress in Luxembourg clearly reflects this. Among quality of life indicators, subjective well-being (satisfaction with life) is considered as a key element. A questionnaire on satisfaction with life was added to the tourism survey in Q3 2012. It reveals that the youngest (15-24 years) and older (65 and more) are the most satisfied with their life in general as well as with their professional situation and housing conditions. Only exception: the satisfaction with health which decreases unsurprisingly as age increases. It also indicates that nationals are more satisfied than Italian or Portuguese residents and that the age class 25 to 44 years is generally the least satisfied.
