Regards 13/22 - The invisible violence

Almost one in five people (aged 16-74) have been affected by physical, sexual or psychological violence at least once in the last 12 months. This is what a study conducted by STATEC in 2019/2020 reveals. But what happened to these victims after the violence? Did they come into contact with the police? Did they seek help from professionals? In fact, the vast majority of victims (78%) did not contact the police, doctors, psychologists, social workers or other professionals. The differences in reaction to violence between men and women, and those forms of violence that often remain invisible, are discussed in this Regards.
