Regards 01/23 - What gains in purchasing power for households in households in Luxembourg in 2022 and 2023?
The latest STATEC Regards assesses the gains in purchasing power of households in Luxembourg in 2022 and 2023 on the basis of the evolution of expenditure and income. Expenditure increases due to high inflation, while income increases due to wage indexation and the support measures decided during the tripartite meetings. The average purchasing power is higher in 2022 and 2023 than in 2019, regardless of the standard of living of households or the type of heating used. The measures resulting from the two tripartites prove to be redistributive: the purchasing power of the most modest households increases while that of the most affluent households is slowed down.
