Directorate and staff

Dr Serge Allegrezza was appointed Director of STATEC in April 2003, after having been in charge of the internal market policy and the general economic policy at the Ministry of Economics of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

The Directors board deals with budgetary and personnel issues. It supervises the execution of urgent matters.

The directorate and the heads of units and divisions meet monthly (Statcor) in order to discuss joint projects, exchange information, follow up day-to-day issues as well as the implementation and monitoring of the annual program.

STATEC has a staff of 175 persons of which 56% are civil servants and 44% employees. 49% of the jobs are occupied by women.

Researchers, experts/consultants, temporary and auxiliary staff, trainees and students complete the staff.

The Research team (RED) was created in 2009. Since then, the law of 10 July 2011 has established that research activities are part of the Institution’s mission. Research carried focuses on the study of determinants of productivity and competitiveness.
