Launch of the business and leisure tourism survey

On 2nd January 2023, STATEC will launch the new round of the survey on travel and excursions in the last quarter of 2022. A letter of invitation will be sent to a randomly selected sample of 6000 residents aged between 15 and 85. The questionnaire is available in Luxembourgish, French, German and English and can be completed online or by telephone.

The tourism survey makes it possible to monitor the evolution of residents' tourism activities year after year. Tourism has an important impact on the national economy. This survey helps to understand the evolution of Luxembourg society, the changes in tourist behaviours, the growing importance of tourist travel as well as the use of the internet for reservations.

Participation in the surveys is a legal obligation for the selected persons (Article 13 of the Law of July 10, 2011 on the organization of the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies). The answers provided are covered by the statistical secrecy guaranteed by Article 16 of the same law.
