Short-term economic outlook and prospects for green and inclusive growth

STATEC presentation as part of the coalition negotiations at Senningen Castle

On 12 October, at the invitation of formateur Luc Frieden, the CSV and DP delegations met in plenary session at the Château de Senningen to hear reports from various experts on the state of Luxembourg's public finances and the economic outlook.

STATEC Director Serge Allegrezza, accompanied by Tom Haas, Head of the Conjoncture, Modelling and Forecasting Department, gave an overview of the growth outlook for 2023. STATEC outlined the expected trends in growth and employment over the next few years, while also touching on qualitative growth (GDP-Well-being), inequality, the risk of poverty and purchasing power. The presentation also touched on competitiveness and productivity. The presentation also included a talk on green growth, i.e. the decoupling of demographic and economic growth from CO2 emissions (Pnec scenarios).
