The green economy is becoming more dynamic than the overall economy! The greening of the economy since 2017 is primarily driven by the construction of the passive houses

The Luxembourg green economy generated EUR 5.6 billion of output and EUR 1.9 billion of gross added value in 2020. It comprises the part of the national economy that produces environmental goods and services to prevent, reduce and eliminate pollution or other environmental degradation, as well as to preserve natural resources and protect them from depletion. If between 2008-2017, the contribution of the green economy to the GDP was on average 1.7%, from the year 2018 it increased, reaching 3% of GDP in 2020.
