Launch of the tourism survey

On 1 April, STATEC is launching the latest round of its survey on trips and excursions taken during the first quarter of 2026. An invitation letter has been sent to a sample of 4,000 residents aged between 15 and 85, selected at random. The questionnaire is available in Luxembourgish, French, German and English and can be completed online or by telephone.

Completing the questionnaire will take around 15 minutes.

The tourism survey is used to track the evolution of residents’ tourism activities year on year. Tourism has a significant impact on the national economy. This survey helps to understand the evolution of Luxembourgish society, changes in tourism behaviour, the growing importance of leisure travel, and the use of the internet for bookings.

Participation in the surveys is a legal obligation for those selected (Article 13 of the Law of 10 July 2011 on the organisation of the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies). The responses provided are covered by statistical confidentiality, as guaranteed by Article 16 of the same law.
