Population structure

What's it about?

Before 2017, population figures, including the main demographic characteristics (age, sex, nationality, etc.), were estimated between the decennial population censuses. Since 1 January 2017, STATEC has compiled these figures on the basis of the National Register of Natural Persons (RNPP).

Population figures are available at the national level but also by municipalities and cantons.
