Regards 03/26 - Generative AI: Threat or opportunity? Public perception

In Luxembourg, generative artificial intelligence is predominantly seen as an opportunity, with 63 per cent of internet users viewing it positively. However, this perception varies significantly depending on demographic profile. Young people (72 per cent of 16–24-year-olds) and digital workers (84 per cent in ICT* roles) are the most optimistic, whilst older people (52 per cent of 65–74-year-olds) and manual workers (53 per cent) express concerns. A clear trend is emerging: perceptions of AI directly influence certain adaptive behaviours. Among the most optimistic, nearly 7 in 10 (68 per cent) are undergoing formal or self-directed training in new generative AI tools, compared with just 26 per cent of those who view it as a threat.
