Supreme Council of Statistics (SCS)

The Supreme Council of Statistics (SCS), has been reformed by the law of 10 July 2011 on the organisation of STATEC (Pdf, 35 Kb). Its missions and proceedings have been specified by the Grand Ducal regulation of 12 March 2013 (Pdf, 43 Kb). The SCS expresses consulting functions with STATEC and meets at least once a year. The Council gives notably advice on:

  • the activity report and the annual work program of the national statistical system, established by the Committee for public statistics at the beginning of each year;
  • the works and decisions of the Committee for public statistics;
  • the priorities and main orientations of public statistics;
  • the quality of the national statistical system and its ability to meet the user's needs.

The SCS comprises 10 members and one observer.
