Prices

What's it about?

This section contains information on the various price indices produced by STATEC. In particular, it concerns the national consumer price index (NICP), which is the official measure of inflation and the trigger for the index brackets in Luxembourg.

The consumer price index complies with Community regulations. The weighting of the index is adjusted every year to take account of changes in household consumption patterns. It is published at base 100 in 2015 for the purposes of economic analysis, and at base 100 on 1 January 1948 for the purposes of the sliding scale of wages.
